Cosmetic Executive Women – This members-only organization is the most well-known in the beauty industry. Basically all major executives are members, and they host networking events for its constituency. Their annual Beauty Awards features the best products, voted by the membership. I love their Young Executive events, where you can network with professionals at the manager level or below.
The FAB (Fashion Arts Beauty) Network was founded by my good friend Jessica Styles, who currently manages the Career Development program at LIM College. She hosts informative panels, spanning across multiple industries in entertainment, beauty, and fashion. Check out her blog for job and event postings.
The Powder Group hosts workshops geared towards the career and personal advancement of makeup artists around the country. They founded The Makeup Show and On Makeup Magazine, and host several yearly workshops (The Artists Summit, Evolution, The Wellness Symposium) around the country. Their TPG Pro membership includes discounts for their programs and an active network of artists and hairstylists.
